This elephant is made out of paper plush.?Paper plush is an invention of 1919, exactly 100 years ago.?The drastic post-war shortages led the mohair and wool used to make Steiff bears to be replaced by paper plush.?This elephant is made for club members and belongs to the special Margarete Steiff Edition.?He is wearing his special ear tag, so you can see that he is a high-quality product.?His special wheels have the old Steiff logo on them too.
